Audient iD 4 2in 2out Audio Interface

The Audient iD4 (MKII) is designed to take your recordings to the next level in every area of audio interfaces. It provides professional audio performance in a compact and modern desktop package, allowing you to create studio-quality recordings at home with everything you need.

In every iD interface, you'll find the Audient Console Mic Preamp, based on the same discrete circuit design as our acclaimed recording console, the ASP8024-HE. It is a high-quality hybrid discrete and operational amplifier design that provides a clean, accurate, and thorough translation of your source while maintaining a noise floor that is 30,000 times lower than the signal level. Each nuance and detail of the audio is captured by the converters in iD4, which allows you to hear your mix with more precision.

To ensure that your microphones receive the power they require for the most outstanding acoustic performance, the iD4 is intended to transfer true phantom power through USB. There is no need to search for a plug as the iD4 can be powered directly from your computer via USB without losing sound quality or performance in the process.

Audio interface manufacturer Audient has introduced the iD4 USB computer audio interface, the smallest and most fundamental of the company's iD range of USB computer audio interfaces. With the physical element of the iD4 reduced, the result is a robust and compact unit with a distinct air of quality about it that is in keeping with the needs of its intended user — the solo artist who records at home or on the move to an ios tablet or phone and Mac or Windows P.C.

Dual independent inputs are available on the iD4: one mic/line on a hybrid XLR/jack connector, as well as an instrument DI with its gain control. A wide variety of uses are possible. In addition to a pair of TRS jack speaker outputs, the rest of the I/O includes a quarter-inch TRS jack headphone output.

USB, quarter-inch audio outputs, and phantom power switch are just some of the ports included on the back panel of the IDS4.

One knob blends Input signals with the DAW return, while two push buttons that light up when activated, a volume encoder that integrates a latching switch, and twin five-LED curved ladder meters take care of the rest of the front-panel responsibilities.

The iD4 can be connected to any computer device with a USB port if you're using a Mac running OS 10.7.5 (Lion) or higher. For ios smartphones, you'll need to be running ios 6 or higher, a Camera Connection Kit, and a USB 2 powered hub, which may make mobile recording more challenging.

Even though the iD4 is class-compliant with Mac OS, if you're using Windows 7 or later, you'll need to download and install the iD drivers first, during the driver installation procedure, the iD4 software, which allows you to customize the sampling rate, buffer size, and latency of the iD4, is also installed.

As a PDF download, the complete guide contains all you need to know about configuring the iD4 with various operating systems and integrating it with DAW software, including specific instructions for Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools. The handbook is available for purchase here.

The presence of an Audient Console Microphone

You've worked hard to obtain a professional sound. The only brand uses the same Class-A mic pre-design throughout its product line, so whether you're in the studio with an Audient console or on the road with an iD4, you'll always receive the iconic Audient sound.

Pristine Converters are made possible by technological advances.

The brilliance on the inside makes it possible for the polish to shine on the outside. iD4 offers high-performance AD-DA converters in a variety of configurations. It takes years of experience to create high-quality analog consoles. When that expertise is combined with excellent converter technology, you can hear how it was designed to be heard. Converters are incredibly vital and should never be underestimated or taken for granted. An auditory experience like no other is provided by audience-generated audio.

ScrollControl

The scrolling wheel on the screen is a virtual one. A single button press changes the volume encoder in iD4 into a virtual scroll wheel, which allows you to tweak DAW hosts plugin parameters, and even scroll through your iTunes library, just like you would with a physical scroll wheel. This knob may scroll to control the location where your mouse pointer is currently hovering. When you aren't using ScrollControl, hitting the volume encoder on the iD4 activates DIM, allowing you to quickly reduce the playback volume when you aren't using ScrollControl.

It's as simple as plugging in and playing.

Connect your device and let yourself be inspired. The iD4's D.I. input, a JFET, has much harmonic content. Because it is meant to simulate the input stage of a typical valve amplifier, you can plug in your guitar, bass, piano, or drum machine and start recording straight away without any additional equipment. Start with professional-grade recordings to elevate the quality of your track to the next level.

Headphones with two different audio outputs

Writing, cooperating, and creating stuff is some of my favorite things to do. The iD4 lets you work with your friends and other musicians on a similar project with its dual headphone output. 2 pairs of headphones can be plugged into the iD4, making it an ideal tool for jamming with your friends and capturing inspiration as it happens, whether you're recording a guitar and vocals or simply listening to music together. With the dual headphone output, which includes both a jack and a small jack output, there's no need to lug a bulky headphone converter around with you all the time.

Compatible with the iOS

Record a voice memo or a video message using your iPhone or iPod. The fact that iD4 is compatible with ios means that filming on the fly is now easier than ever. Once you figure out how simple it is to set up an iD4 on an ios smartphone. A Camera Adapter Kit, as well as a powered USB hub, is all you'll need to get started recording virtually anyplace.

Designed to last for a long time

It is vital to keep up high standards of quality. The iD4's all-metal construction, hand-finished aluminum knobs, and high-quality component selections ensure that it will endure multiple late-night studio sessions and days on the road with ease.
