HY-Lofi2 combines a bit quantizer, distortion/waveshaper unit, and a filter section with high pass and low pass filters. Two new quantizer modes have been added for a total of 4. With various quality options and a knob for bit depth, it offers a nice range of degradation from subtle to complete audio destruction. Mode 3 and 4 are modified versions of the original two modes. While they may sound similar, they respond in different ways when using various quality and bit depth values. The drive section has been simplified and has just one knob to control the drive level. The HP and LP filters offer basic tools to control the tone of your sound. Also new in version 2 is a separate input and output level, and a slider sets the dry/wet balance of the signal. ATKSideChainCompressor is a stereo side-chain compressor plugin. The side chain capability allows an outside signal to trigger the compressor, like a filtered version of the original signal or a completely distinct signal. Bass triggered by drums is the typical example of a side-chain compressor effect. The plugin features a unique colour section that enables non-linear compression near the knee. A negative colour lowers the gain while a positive colour increases the gain above 0dB (a simple compressor always has a gain less or equal to 0dB). In linked channels mode, both channels attach/release filters are working independently while their sum activates the single gain filter. Features two separate channels that can be linked together, Middle/Side processing, a control between peak power and RMS detection, a color section (color and quality), a dry/wet section for parallel compression.
